Emeco makes chairs. 'Often by hand. Mostly from recycled stuff. But always to last,' it says. It started life making chairs for the US Navy, and now collaborates with top designers like Philippe Starck and Norman Foster.

What we love

Starting in 1944 with recycled aluminium, it's since discovered a lot more to reuse and recycle, whether it's wood, plastic, concrete or cork. 'The goal is to make things people keep,' it says, and we couldn't agree more...
