The Ocean Cleanup, a non-profit organisation, designs and develops passive cleanup systems to clean up what is already polluting our oceans and to intercept plastic on its way to the ocean via rivers. Using this two-pronged approach, The Ocean Cleanup aims to remove 90% of floating ocean plastic by the year 2040.
What we love
Ocean plastic is one of the biggest environmental challenges we face – not only does it affect marine life, but its toxic pollutants infiltrate our food chain, too. Non-profit The Ocean Cleanup is years ahead of the curve and has already developed advanced technology to tackle the problem head on.
